They protect fibre optic cables, both above- and belowground, against mechanical stress, moisture, chemical exposure and miscalculated excavations.
Depending on the application, main conduits, microducts or subducts are used, usually made of HDPE (high-density polyethylene). This material combines an extremely long lifespan (50 to even 150 years) with flexibility, high compressive strength and full recyclability.
